02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
West Lothian Artistic Gymnastics Club SCIO exists to provide safe, inclusive and high-quality gymnastics opportunities for children and young people in West Lothian. We deliver coaching from preschool and recreational classes through to development and competitive pathways, helping participants build confidence, physical skills, wellbeing and ambition. We do this through qualified coaches, trained volunteers, strong safeguarding arrangements, community partnerships and a programme of classes, camps, competitions and events. We aim to ensure every gymnast is supported to progress at their own pace and reach their potential in a positive, welcoming environment.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation's purpose is the advancement of public participation in sport. This will be achieved through the following: 1. Participation and promotion of the sport of gymnastics, hereinafter referred to as the 'sport' 2. The organisation, management and development of gymnastics 3. The provision of training facilities 4. Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of technical competence and safety in the sport. 5. Upholding the rules of the sport 6. Providing equal opportunities for successful participation by all sections of the community. 7. Upholding the rules and codes of conducts of the club.
