02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
A Charity operating in Midlothian to support kinship carers and children in their care. To be non-judgemental, wholly inclusive even if cannot attend group meetings, combat isolation, seek and roll out relevant training, partnership working with relevant agencies. During school term time weekly meetings are held. There is a robust Summer Activity Programme when families come together. Fundraising throughout year, ie Easter Raffle, Charity Night and Christmas Raffle.

Constitutional objectives
1. The relief of those in need within Midlothian by developing and supporting a network, self-help action/support group for grandparents parenting again and kinship carers (people who are looking after the children of their relations or close family friends on a full-time basis). 2. The advancement of education and related opportunities by offering group members and local people, opportunities to develop knowledge and training related to current social and educational policies. To do this without fear of criticism, judgment or stigma. 3. The promotion of equality and diversity by providing a forum for group members to raise awareness and campaign on behalf of other Kinship Carers in Midlothian. 4. The relief of those in need promoting positive well being, healthy living and health education opportunities to build confidence, combat social isolation and financial exclusion.
