02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Weir Family Foundation is established to provide charitable support across Scotland, focusing on the prevention and relief of poverty, the advancement of education, health, sport and animal welfare, and supporting people experiencing disadvantage due to age, ill health, disability or financial hardship. The charity achieves these aims by raising and distributing funds to projects and organisations that deliver public benefit. During the year, the Foundation supported the establishment of a girls' football academy at Grange Academy, Kilmarnock, and continues to identify and support charitable initiatives that align with its objectives and create positive outcomes within local communities.
