02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity provides trauma-informed, empowerment-focussed Personal Safety training, including practical self defence, to vulnerable people. Our Barony St John Centre in Ardrossan is a safe place for people to come and ask for our help. It is also a space they can be trained in and is a vital hub for our local community where various groups and individuals can come to improve their mental and physical wellbeing..

Constitutional objectives
The SCIO’s charitable purposes is: 1. The potential saving of lives and will include. i. The provision of practical training and solutions to help people avoid violence and aggression. ii. The raising of awareness of the importance of personal safety in Scottish communities. iii. The provision of a point of contact for those who are at risk of violence or those seeking advice in Scotland. iv. The reduction of the fear of crime throughout Scotland.
