02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is a recreational allotment area for the cultivation of flowers, fruit and vegetables. The site contains a range of plot sizes, including raised beds, to enable tenants to benefit physically and mentally from plot use according to their needs. There are regular working and social events for plot holders to maintain the communal facilities and encourage community cohesion. Biodiversity is promoted throughout the site, promoting use of organic methods and growth of a broad variety of species. Tenancy of all plots on the site is managed by the Board in the best interest of the Association members and the surrounding community. The surrounding local community benefits from the relaxing open air site and the produce from the plots during open events and through donations of produce to local community kitchens/foodbanks.

Constitutional objectives
The advancement of environmental protection and improvement by holding the land, registered under the title number GLA93548 and lying to the rear of Greenholme Court, Cathcart, Glasgow, and developing it as a recreational allotment area for the cultivation of flowers, fruit and vegetables in accordance with the Deed of Conditions associated with the feu disposition in favour of the Association and by managing the allotment site in an effective manner and in accordance with the Associations? policies and code of conduct for members, promoting biodiversity and developing tenancy of all plots on the site in the best interest of the Association members and the surrounding community. The advancement of health by promoting and developing access to the open air site and its facilities for the surrounding community and schools by encouraging organic growing methods and providing a relaxing amenity for the local community to enjoy.
