02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are committed to making a difference to the lives of people in the local community and visitors. With free entry, parking and an on-site café, it is an ideal place for a family day out. We are committed to ensuring that Craigtoun Park remains as a recreational facility, readily available and affordable to the community. We rely heavily on the income generated by seasonal attractions and this will continue. However, as a charity we also rely on donations and grants for improvement and development projects. We have an ongoing program of projects to restore and enhance the park, including developing buildings and areas in the park to enable greater community use. We are developing educational programs and providing additional facilities. Maintaining the gardens is an essential part of respecting the park’s heritage and preserving park’s natural appeal.
