02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Solid Grounds is set up to support the health, wellbeing and development of Scotland’s ex-forces community. Its purposes include helping ex-service personnel transition from military to civilian life through mentoring, counselling, life coaching and support, with the aim of improving quality of life and advancing mental and emotional health. It also aims to support education and career development through grant funding. The charity achieves these aims through appropriate support services, mentoring and coaching, and by providing financial assistance where possible. During the financial year covered by this return, however, Solid Grounds was dormant and did not undertake charitable activities.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation?s purposes are: 4.1 The advancement of citizenship and community development through the provision of a mentoring programme for ex-service personnel, supporting them through the transition from Military to Civilian Life with a view to improving quality of life throughout the ex-forces community. 4.2 Advancement of health within the ex forces community. In Furtherance of the purposes Solid Grounds consumer goals are: 4.3 To offer a Solid Grounds counselling service to Scotland?s Ex-Forces community to advance mental & emotional health. 4.4 To offer a professional Solid Grounds life coaching and mentoring service that will partner with and compliment the counselling service. 4.5 To use profits and donations for investing into the further development of Solid Grounds beneficiaries by offering grant funding for the furtherment of education and career enhancement.
