02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our mission is to prevent and relieve poverty and support those in need due to age, ill health, disability, financial hardship, or disadvantage. We provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to people in crisis, referred through various community channels. As part of The Trussell Trust’s UK-wide network of 428 foodbanks, we aim to tackle hunger locally and nationally. The service operates across multiple church venues in Ayrshire. We’re committed to reducing the need for foodbanks through initiatives like More Than Food, helping people move out of crisis long-term.
