What the charity exists to do
We support sustainable development in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, mainly through grant assistance to suitable projects, but also from time to time through projects of our own.

Constitutional objectives
The Charitable Purposes are:- 5.1 The advancement of environmental protection or' improvement, in particular supporting organisations and individuals developing sustainable lifestyles and projects which take into account future resource availability and the desirability of a more equal society. 5.2 The advancement of community development, in particular encouraging local communities to become stronger and more self-reliant through the adoption of sustainable lifestyles. 5.3 The advancement of education and science, in particular carrying out research and education relating to the technical and social aspects of sustainable lifestyles. and 5.4 Such other purposes as are charitable which enable the charitable objectives to be fulfilled.
