02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
1. To advance education and the arts, heritage, culture or science by: • Establishing, operating and promoting a museum for the public display of the objects and artefacts comprising the Collection. • Acquiring and maintaining a collection of objects and artefacts of significance to the Regiment and people associated with the Regiment (the Collection). • Providing for the protection of the Collection from deterioration, damage, loss, accidental destruction or unauthorised disposal. • Encouraging and assisting members of the public to explore the Collection for inspiration, learning and enjoyment. • Providing information about the Collection and engaging with visitors to assist interpretation. 2. To promote the efficiency of the Royal Regiment of Scotland in particular and the Armed Forces in general, by maintaining and enhancing its connection with society.
