02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to support student-focused initiatives and projects within the South Lanarkshire region. The Trustees consider grant applications from bidders and ensure that the projects they choose to support align with the charity's objectives. Many of the submissions received are from South Lanarkshire College but other applications are welcome. The Trustees meet four times a year to review its current remit, consider governance related updates, consider the financial statements and quarterly management accounts and approve or reject any bids received. The Charity is supported by inputs primarily from South Lanarkshire College staff who administer the Trustee meetings and support with any resulting workload. It is also supported by a Volunteer Governance Professional who ensures compliance in all governance related issues.
