02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We provide independent information and guidance for anyone who is thinking about directing their own social care support or that of someone they care for. We also support individuals and families who are already directing an existing social care package. Our mission is that people have the choice and control to live more independent

Constitutional objectives
1.1. To enable individuals who may use health and social care support to have their voices heard and influence the development of policies that have an impact on their lives, as local and national levels. 1.2. To share information that relates to self-directed support, to enable individuals and their carers to promote their well-being. 1.3.To develop the strengths and abilities of people contributing to the organisation. 1.4. To encourage and promote peer support among disabled people and others using health and social care services. 1.5. To encourage partnership working with other voluntary and statutory organisations interested in self-directed support.
