02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
As a charitable organisation, we are committed to advancing and educating ourselves and others in the art of playing bagpipes and drums. We do this in various ways, but our principal objective is to come together as a band to perform at various local and national events. As a band, we also compete at various branch level Pipe Band competitions and also Major Championships, all of which are organised by our governing body, the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.

Constitutional objectives
2.1 The object of the band will be to advance and promote the arts, heritage and culture of piping and drumming in a positive and professional manner and encourage the advancement of education of pipe band music by offering free tuition to any individual seeking it and in turn promote the traditional music of pipe bands by the advancement of the band by competing under the auspices of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.
