Constitutional objectives

a) To promote the advancement of health and the saving of lives by: Creating partnerships in Malawi and other nations to improve the health, education and human rights of children and their mothers. These partnerships will emphasize the promotion of more healthy communities, with lower rates of maternal mortality and HIV infection. b) To promote the advancement of education by: Improving knowledge amongst children and teachers regarding children?s rights to survival, protection, participation and development. Providing Reproductive Health Education using a Rights-based approach with a view to promoting gender respect to/for children, young adults, midwives and traditional birth attendants Building in-country capacity so that training can continue, and in time improve within the local population. To promote this, Malawian graduates in midwifery, teacher training, and public Health will receive teacher training at the University of Strathclyde and Midwifery training at the University of West of Scotland. Visits to schools in Scotland will be required. Forming links, and subsequently partnerships with a Malawian NGO (Adolescent Girls Literary Project or 'AGLIT') as well as local schools and colleges.
