02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We strive to create an enabling environment where under-represented and undiscovered talents come together to try their hand at content creation, film, TV media productions, fashion, make-up, dance and new digital media. We generate opportunities for young Black creatives that will help them gain both soft and hard skills in and out of the workplace, and offer mentoring and supportive opportunities that help them develop their confidence and creativity. Our activities include creating cultural, educational, entertaining, inspiring and creative activities for people within the African Scottish community. We recognise that young creatives of African descent are often under-represented within the arts sector. We also recognise the many barriers that these young people face. We offer up our skills, time and leadership as creatives from African descent to create a skills exchange programme, where people can try their hands on creative content creations.
