The SCIO is established for charitable purposes only and the SCIO?s principal purpose is for the benefit of the public in Scotland through the promotion of basketball and other sports to:-5.1 advance public participation in sport.5.2 provide recreational facilities, or organise recreational facilities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the activities are primarily intended.5.3 advance education.5.4 advance citizenship or community development. and5.5 promote equality and diversity
