02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Shettleston Men's Shed supports men predominantly over 55 in Glasgow's East End who may be experiencing social isolation, poor mental health, limited mobility or loneliness. Through regular activities including woodworking, table-top games, darts, pool, shared meals and organised outings, members build friendships, stay active and develop new skills in a supportive environment. This work aims to improve mental health and wellbeing, reduce isolation and help older men remain engaged.
