02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Haydays is a community organisation with charitable status run by its members for its 180 members that age between 55 and 94 . Haydays is based in St. Andrews and provides a wide range of classes. The objectives for which Haydays is established are to promote and encourage health and well-being and the advancement of lifelong learning for people over 50 in the local community of St Andrews and its environs. This is to be achieved by providing stimulating and challenging learning opportunities allied with the provision of facilities for meeting people and feeling part of a community. The overall objective is to make whatever contribution we can to making older people in our area feel happier about their lives, more connected, more fulfilled, more healthy and more valued.

Constitutional objectives
The Objects for which the Organisation is established are to promote and encourage health and well being and the advancement of life long learning for people over fifty years old in the local community and its environs. This shall be achieved through the promotion of the Arts and provision of facilities for the recreation and leisure time occupation of these people. This shall be in the interest of social welfare with the objective of improving the quality of life for members of the Organisation.
