Constitutional objectives
This clause shall be interpreted as if it incorporates an over-riding qualification limiting the powers of the SCIO such that any activity which would otherwise be permitted by the terms of this constitution may be carried on only if that activity furthers a purpose which is regarded as Charitable. Subject to the overriding qualification, the SCIO's principal purposes are, for the benefit of the public in Scotland and elsewhere to:- 3.1 advance education. 3.2 prevent or relieve poverty. 3.3 advance human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation. and 3.4 promote equality and diversity, by contributing to the promotion of sustainable forms of education in the context of displacement, and facilitating knowledge exchange and dissemination among the wider public in order to raise awareness and understanding of the lived experiences of refugees
