Constitutional objectives

The association's objects are to advance the religion of Islam, promote religious and racial harmony, equality and diversity, advance education, and relieve those in need, in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, for the benefit of the public, in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and his Household. In furtherance thereof but not otherwise the association shall seek. (a) To organise a committed project to establish links between the Glasgow Muslim Community and society at large, to enlighten others about the teachings of Islam. (b) To provide a place of gathering for lectures and public meetings for the following purposes: religious, cultural and educational, to promote religious and racial harmony, to promote equality and diversity. With emphasis on these being delivered in the English language, so as to keep the programs accessible to the general public, the converted/Scottish Muslim community and the youth of the established Muslim community. (c) To provide support, practical assistance, counselling and education for the community of people who have converted to the religion of Islam (which includes Scottish Muslims), and the community of 'raised'/'traditional' Muslim Men, Women, youth and children. (d) To provide support, practical assistance relief and counselling for the immigrant, refugee and converted Muslim individuals and families, either living in or coming to live in Glasgow and Scotland and to aid their integration into society. And to provide relief to those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
