02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Lisa's Gift seeks to ensure, as far as possible, that no child within Renfrewshire's primary or secondary education sector is forced to miss out on extra curricular activities offered by schools which require a parental financial contribution. It is those children whose parent/guardian(s) simply cannot afford to provide the necessary funds for such activities who we seek to assist in order that the pupils involved are able to enjoy the same opportunities as their more fortunate peers. We also strive to provide financial assistance to schools to create/maintain breakfast clubs and/or nurture units, provide warm winter clothing, P.E. kits and a host of other requirements identified by school staff. Having raised funds through a variety of fundraising activities and donations, requests are submitted to our charity by school staff through completion of an application form outlining the reasons for their request. Following a meeting of the trustees a cheque is given to the school.
