02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The JAFCT was set up to hold the Trust Fund for any of the Charitable purposes contained under Section of the CATI(Sc) Act 2005, in particular to benefit the public by benefitting charities set up for the purposes of medical research in relation to neurosurgery and spinal injuries and for the benefit of those in need as a result of injuries they have sustained. The Trust Fund is invested in an investment portfolio which is managed on a discretionary basis. The trust purposes are met by the Charity making donations to chosen charities in keeping with the above from investment income on an annual basis. Income received from donations is reinvested to generate future income for grant making.

Constitutional objectives
The Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund for Charitable Purposes exclusively. declaring without prejudice to the foregoing generality that the Trustees may apply the Trust Fund exclusively for any or all of the following Charitable Purposes namely: 1. For the purposes of benefitting the public and in particular but without prejudice to the generality of that purpose. 1.1 for the benefit of medical research in relation to neurosurgery and spinal injuries. and 1.2 for the benefit of those in need as a result of injuries they have sustained. or 2. For the benefit of such one or more Charity or Charities as the Trustees in their uncontrolled discretion may decide. or 3.For the implementation or assistance in implementing any Charitable Purpose or purposes as the Trustees in their uncontrolled discretion may decide.
