Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The company has been primarily formed to benefit the community of Uplawmoor, which comprises the residences within postcode areas G78 4, G78 3AP, G78 3AR, G78 3AS, G78 3BA, G78 3BH, G78 3BJ, G78 3BL, G78 3BN, (“the Community”), but it is intended that the wider community will also reap benefit. The objects of the company are set out below: 4.2 the provision of recreational facilities, and the organisation and promotion of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, by improving and adding to the existing minimal facilities. 4.3 the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, or other disadvantage where practical – eg provision of free transport service to Medical Practices and Hospitals 4.4 the advancement of environmental protection or improvement, by preservation and conservation of the natural environment and the promotion of sustainable development. For example by providing nesting boxes for birds, planting native trees and shrubs, placing information boards to convey the important features of selected areas within the village and its environs. 4.5 the provision of meeting facilities and promoting use of these facilities for clubs and societies which have been identified in a village questionnaire. 4.6 the advancement of education by sourcing and introducing courses which would benefit the whole community. 4.7 the advancement of environmental protection or improvement by, for example, instigating measures to reduce carbon emissions, e.g. shared journeys and by linking adjacent villages by cycle/walking track. 4.8 the advancement of community development by: 4.8.1 the encouragement of voluntary activity and increasing the involvement of individuals in the community activities covered in the Objects. helping voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises to build up their skills. 4.8.2 Any other object similar to the above which is a purpose under Section 7.2 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
