What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to relieve fuel poverty in Orkney residents. It does this through providing free of charge fuel poverty advice to Orkney residents, working in partnership with other third sector organisations in Orkney and referring clients as needed for other help such as debt advice, benefit assessment, foodbank, mental health help etc, and through providing practical help such as electricity vouchers, Cosy Home Packs, paying for other types of fuel, electricity debt, and repairs needed to permit access to government schemes for heating, insulation etc. Services are provided through a mix of in person and telephone support.
