02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Kirkmaiden Community Harbour Trust exists to benefit the community of Kirkmaiden by managing and developing community land and assets, including the harbour, for public benefit. We work to improve quality of life through regeneration, environmental protection and the preservation of local heritage. We provide and support recreational facilities and activities, advance education about the area’s environment and history, and promote sustainable development. We achieve this by acquiring and managing property, delivering community-led projects, securing grant funding, working with partners and volunteers, and ensuring all income and assets are applied solely for community benefit.
