Constitutional objectives
7.1 The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes primarily through year round activities focussed on promoting healthy eating and the benefits of natural and super foods to the people of Glasgow and beyond as well assisting with methods of how to live and eat well on a budget and contribute to the health, well-being and life expectancy of the people who make up Glasgow. The culmination of each year?s activities will be a festival in Glasgow which as well as providing a focal for the food and drink based activities, the festival will celebrate the multi-cultural heritage of Glasgow through an arts programme of street and local community art, theatre, music and history. 7.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are particularly relevant and for the purposes of the 2005 Act are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- - the advancement of health. and - the advancement of the arts, heritage and culture. 7.3 For the purposes of the Taxes Acts the provisions set out in clauses 7.1 and 7.2 shall be read together to ensure the charitable purposes of the SCIO are complaint with the Taxes Acts.
