The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are: 4.1 the prevention or relief of poverty 4.2 the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. and 4.3 the promotion of the effectiveness or efficiency of charities 4.4 to provide, at the discretion of the directors, social welfare and financial support to those citizens of Glasgow area ( the extent of such area to be determined by the directors and shall not necessarily by limited to the geographical local authority area of Glasgow City Council 4.5 other parts of Scotland in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages and whose personal circumstances are such that the support provided by Freedom from Poverty will improve and/or relieve their personal and financial circumstances, all for the purpose of promoting a better social welfare
