02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The purposes of the Trust are: a) the prevention and relief of poverty. and b) the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage in South Ayrshire. Decisions for the disbursement of funds are delegated to committees of Trustees comprising councillors for the areas of Ayr. Prestwick and Monkton. Troon. Coylton. Maybole. Girvan. and Barr. All funds for Troon, Coylton, Maybole and Barr are now exhausted. The remaining committees convened during the year and after careful consideration of applications and other relevant information, approved disbursements.

Constitutional objectives
We pay to the Trustees the sum of ONE POUND (£1 .00) STERLING and, except as otherwise specified, direct the Trustees to hold this sum, and such sums of money, stocks and shares and other assets as may from time to time be paid or conveyed to the Trustees by us or other persons and the investments and property from time to time representing the same (all hereinafter referred to as the Trust Fund') as capital and to disburse from the revenue income generated there from, grants and donations as described in the Trust Conditions for the following purposes (hereinafter referred to as the Trust Purposes'): (a) the prevention or relief of poverty. (b) the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
