02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Men's Sheds provide companionship and a sense of purpose for men, many of whom might otherwise become socially isolated. Men's Sheds have become recognised as a major contributor to the improvement of men's health, both physical and mental. The Men's Shed movement recognises the particular challenges which men face from a lack of established social circles once away from the working environment, through retirement, redundancy, discharge from the armed forces, or long-term unemployment. Members regularly meet and have access to a fully equiped workshop.
