02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
ABA exists to foster esprit de corps throughout past and present members of our Airborne Forces in Scotland. Additional ABA assists disadvantaged members, directly or via Service charities and undertakes gatherings of note.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation is established for charitable purposes only and, in particular, the objects are: (a) To advance citizenship by promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of Airborne Forces by fostering esprit de corps and maintaining contact between the past and present members. (b) To provide relief to those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage either generally, or through recognised military charities, or individually to persons who are serving or who have served in Airborne Forces or their dependents.
