02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Lossiemouth Community Development Trust works to make Lossiemouth a better place to live, work, and visit. We are a membership-led charity governed by local volunteers, representing the whole community. Our aim is to create a thriving, sustainable, and vibrant town by regenerating places and facilities, supporting community groups, and developing projects that address local needs. We do this by engaging widely with residents, businesses, and partners. leading on regeneration projects. maintaining and improving key community assets. and creating inclusive spaces and activities that build pride, wellbeing, and economic resilience.

Constitutional objectives
The Trust has been formed to benefit the people residing and/or working in the Lossiemouth Community Council area, which comprises the postcode unit IV31, and will represent the interests of the whole community of Lossiemouth, throughout the lifetime of the Trust. The Trust objectives are: (1) The advancement of community development, including advancement of rural regeneration, but such that the Trust shall do so following principles of sustainable development. (2) The enhancement of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. (3) The advancement of citizenship. (4) The advancement of environmental protection or improvement. (5) The relief and prevention of poverty. (6) The relief of unemployment.
