02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
In the UK – to fundraise through ongoing sponsorship and donations in the UK and overseas, to enable the organisation to support projects, communities and individuals who continue to be affected by the 2015 earthquake and the general lack of infrastructure in Nepal. In Nepal – to help fund and maintain children’s homes in two locations in Nepal. Pokhara and Chitwan and provide a stable base to orphaned, abandoned and displaced children to better access healthcare and education and have a safe environment to live in, free of exploitation. Due to Covid-19 and changes to government legislation, the children’s homes unfortunately had to close. The children have returned to their villages, where they will be cared for by extended family member or neighbours. We aim to continue to support the education needs of of children directly to their homes and villages.
