02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Provide families financial support when travelling to the mainland to give birth - currently £30 a day at maximum 14 days this can go towards food, accommodation, fuel ect. We also cover the cost of birthing pools for mothers who wish to have a home water birth. we also cover the cost of the first appointment with the island physio.

Constitutional objectives
To provide relief from financial hardship to pregnant mothers from Islay and Jura expected to await the birth of their baby on the mainland by providing financial assistance. To advance the social welfare of expectant mothers on Islay and Jura by campaigning for better health and maternity services on the islands.
