02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

AFRICAN CHALLENGE SCOTLAND is a voluntary organisation which is Scotland wide and based in Glasgow it helps build more successful integrated communities, relieve poverty, advance education and promote cultural and sporting links between African’s and Scottish population. The charity has engaged more than 365,000 people and received awards for mitigating climate change, being an innovative organisation and best grass roots organisation in recognition of support to New Scots from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority communities in Glasgow and beyond. A majority of our beneficiaries are children, young people and women who are: leaving care. young carers. at risk of homelessness. young offenders. teenage parents. or have experienced domestic violence and abuse. Through our programmes we seek to enable our clients to integrate into their local communities, improve mental and physical wellbeing, develop positive social networks, and increase transition to education & sustainable employment
