02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
MugStock exists to make music, the arts and creative activity accessible and beneficial to the community. We do this mainly through The MugShack, our community venue in Cumbernauld, where we aspire to provide and host grassroots live music, youth music development, creative workshops, volunteering opportunities, wellbeing activities and inclusive community events. We work with artists, charities and community organisations to reduce barriers to participation, develop skills and support social connection and wellbeing. MugStock previously delivered four outdoor festivals at Mugdock Country Park and ran Festival Studios, a creative co-working space in Glasgow. We hope to return to outdoor live events when our resources and capacity allow.
