02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity is set up to deliver a film festival, under the name of International Film Festival Glasgow, and an education programme, supporting independent film education for young audiences (under 16s), under the name of Glasgow Film Club. In 2026, the 13th edition of IFFG continues its journey into fostering local and international talent and creating a hub for independent cinema in Scotland. Advancing into our second decade of discovering new talent and bringing audiences, filmmakers and industry professionals together, creating an education platform for independent cinema, and providing a stage to new and underrepresented voices to showcase their work, the 13th edition in 2026 celebrates our ongoing development. our continuous work toward providing an open and inclusive environment for our community to engage with independent cinema from all around the world. and our accessibility commitment, enabling all audiences to learn about independent film and discover new talent.
