02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The organisation aims to grow public participation in mountain biking across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire by providing trails, facilities and organised activities that improve quality of life for the local community. It also works to protect and improve the environment around mountain biking areas, while helping riders enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly. In addition, the organisation supports community development by working with local communities to share and improve services, land and buildings, and by encouraging pride, identity and participation through mountain biking.

Constitutional objectives
4 The Organisation has been formed for the following purposes (the “Purposes”): 4.1 The advancement of public participation in Mountain Biking in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Particularly, to provide recreational facilities for mountain biking, or the organisation of recreational activities for mountain biking, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended (the “Community”). 4.2 The advancement of environmental protection or improvement of the area of the mountain biking facilities and adjacent areas. Including to provide mountain bikers with the knowledge and understanding to explore the outdoors in a safe and responsible manner. 4.3 The advancement of citizenship or community development. by collaborating with the communities, outside the mountain biking community, where we are based to share and develop services, land and buildings. and to develop a sense of pride and identity in those communities through participation and performance in mountain biking.
