02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

S.M.I.L.E. Counselling is set up to provide affordable counselling to children and young people aged between 11-24. In addition to this we have now expanded our services as part of our social enterprise model to deliver counselling and mental health training to people across Scotland. We are also a schools counselling service.

Constitutional objectives

4.1 Our objectives are to promote the mental health and well-being of young people 11-24 who are affected by disadvantages in society due to their age, gender, race, religious beliefs or sexual orientation 4.2 Our outreach service will work in partnership with other community organisations to be integrative and adaptive within the community to provide a bespoke holistic service 4.3 To advance education and skills development of children, young people and adults in an attempt to improve the chances of educational attainment / sustainable employment. 4.4 To develop knowledge and skills around mental health and wellbeing through formal training and workshops available to all.
