02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Inspiration Orchestra is set up to provide inclusive and accessible music-making opportunities for adults with additional support needs and disabilities. The charity aims to improve wellbeing, confidence, social connection and quality of life through participation in group music activities. The charity delivers this by organising and running regular orchestral music sessions led by experienced facilitators in a supportive and welcoming environment. Sessions are adapted to meet a wide range of abilities and needs, ensuring participants can engage meaningfully regardless of prior musical experience. The charity also promotes inclusion by working with carers, families and partner organisations to remove barriers to participation, and by performing publicly where appropriate to raise awareness of the benefits of inclusive music-making.
