02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We provide the town's festive light display and also enhance the local townscape by providing seasonal floral displays in various planters in the town centre. We procure and maintain the towns festive lighting features throughout the year. These are installed via cherry pickers and provide a fabulous display throughout the festive period for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike.

Constitutional objectives
The purposes of the charity are: a) To advance citizenship and community development within Montrose and the surrounding area through the provision, installation, maintenance, removal and storage of the Montrose Annual Festive Lights Display, for the benefit of the public. b) To enhance the appearance of the Montrose town centre for public benefit through the upkeep of planters and similar streetscape features, where this contributes to civic pride, community wellbeing and the enjoyment of the public realm. In furtherance of these purposes, the charity may organise fundraising activities and events where such activities support the charity’s purposes.
