Constitutional objectives

4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 The prevention or relief of poverty. 4.2 The advancement of education. 4.3 The advancement of citizenship or community development (i) the development and teaching of civic values. the promotion or protection of the rights of the citizen. the encouragement of voluntary activity and increasing the involvement of individuals in community activity. helping voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises to build up their skills. (ii) the regeneration of communities in a particular area of operation by the maintenance or improvement of the physical, social and economic infrastructure and by assisting people who are at a disadvantage because of their social and economic circumstances. 4.4 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, and only in relation to recreational facilities or activities which are: (i) Primarily intended for persons who have need of them by reason of their age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, and (ii) available to members of the public at large or to male or female members of the public at large. 4.5 The advancement of environmental protection or improvement. 4.6 The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage (including relief given by the provision of accommodation or care).
