02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The purposes of the Charity are to assist in relieving the mental and physical suffering and distress and support those experiencing a high level of loss, isolation and loneliness due to Trauma, Loss & Personal Crisis. These include those affected by: Murder, Culpable Homicide, Road Traffic Death or After Suicide. Families with family members diagnosed with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Those affected by Chronic Sorrow This is different to normal grief as it is about the loss of a meaningful and significant attachment where the loss is not be recognised or validated by others. The grief and trauma suffered is also referred to as disenfranchised grief. Our support programmes assist the people we support manage and understand the effects of significant change, loss and grief. With our support they are able to identify ways to take control over their lives and build resilience. We encourage them to improve life skills by discussion, reflection and techniques

Constitutional objectives
The charitable purposes of the Company are to Provide Bereavement Support and assist in relieving the mental and physical suffering and distress of those who have experienced Trauma and Loss and been affected by Disenfranchised Grief by: 2.1 Establishing support centres to help and support families and friends affected by Traumatic Loss by: Murder, Terminal & Serious Illness, Fatal Accidents and Suicide. 2.2 Acting as advisors to family and friends regarding their legal procedures. and 2.3 Providing practical and emotional support for family and friends.
