02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity was set up to help improve oral health and oral health services in Malawi. We do this by providing support to the existing workforce and to those studying to become part of the profession. The support comes in many forms, we provide financial help to allow for studying and training, we help upgrade existing services with good quality donated equipment, we provide education to improve knowledge and skills both within the profession and to the wider communities and we provide pastoral support to our colleagues where required.

Constitutional objectives
Charitable purposes 2. The charitable purposes of the Company are the advancement of health, the advancement of education and the relief of poverty: 2.1 By advancing the health of impoverished people principally in Malawi by the provision of dental services, including provision of dental facilities and equipment. 2.2 By providing training and education in dental matters both for the impoverished people and for staff and potential staff whether face to face, through an intermediary or by distance learning.
