02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our bands consists of the main band doing concerts and fundraising. Also we have two junior bands which are being taught on various musical instruments on the hope they will eventually join the senior band.

Constitutional objectives
To provide for the advancement of musical education, specifically: To provide musical education to all members of the local and broader community of the Organisation's current base in Glenrothes, Fife who wish to join the groups run by the Organisation. This will include individual and group tuition as well as provision of facilities, equipment and instruments as appropriate. Focus is particularly given to upper primary school aged children delivering a broad musical education as well as instilling strong team ethics born from belonging to a successful musical group. To operate a number of brass bands spanning all levels of ability. This will range from absolute beginner groups and a youth band through to operating a band striving to achieve the finest musical performances across national and international competitions and concerts. To enable the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and arts, specifically: To give the local community a musical focal point to learn and participate in brass bands. Supporting this aim through the provision of instruments and free tuition by experienced and highly competent musicians. To support the local community through musical performances across the social spectrum. To constantly strive to improve all aspects of musicality utilising the best resources available across the musical spectrum whilst ensuring a strong local community focus. To support and continue the brass banding musical heritage within Fife.
