02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our aim is to advance education and awareness of the bridge and its heritage. To do so, we hold awareness tours and liaise with local schools and groups in addition to maintenance of bridge environs.

Constitutional objectives

4 The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The advancement of education. To promote and stimulate the study and general knowledge of the history and heritage of Telford Bridge, Craigellachie and its surrounding area and of local history in general with the benefit of improving and advancing the education of the public. 4.2 To advance the education and appreciation of both the public and community of Telford Bridge, Craigellachie by the preservation, conservation, exploration, interpretation, development and promotion of Telford Bridge, Craigellachie. Holding public events and gatherings to display historic information about Telford Bridge, Craigellachie. 4.3 The advancement of heritage and culture. Providing and publicly displaying creative information sources about the culture and heritage of Telford Bridge, Craigellachie. 4.4 To undertake fundraising activities and pursue all charitable purposes connected with the Telford Bridge, Craigellachie, as the trustees shall from time to time in their absolute discretion determine. 4.5 Provide a benefit to the community and promotion of a benefit to that community.
