02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The objective of the Trust is to improve the area of Stranraer for the benefit of inhabitants of the area. To encourage the goodwill and involvement of the wider community and to foster community spirit and encourage civic pride. Promote the health and wellbeing through football for the residents of the community and to work together with the residents irrespective of age, sex, ethnicity, ability, religion or political view. To invite and receive contributions and raise funds where appropriate to finance the Trust’s work. To publicize and promote the Trust’s work and organize meetings, training courses, events and seminars. To work with groups of a similar nature and exchange information, advice and knowledge with them including co-operation with other voluntary bodies, organizations, statutory and non-statutory. We achieve the above by providing regular sporting opportunities primarily focusing on football, this is an opportunity for participation and development.

Constitutional objectives
The Organisation is for the public benefit of the Community of Stranraer as defined by postal code, DG9 (“the Community”), with the Purposes listed in Clause 4.1 and 4.2 below(“the Purposes”), to be exercised following the principles of sustainable development (where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs). 4.1 The advancement of health and wellbeing. We aim to do this by developing activities for all to increase health and general wellbeing. 4.2 The advancement of public participation in sport. We will do this by being inclusive and offering activities that all members of the community can access.
