02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are set up to enhance education, historic research,. We also preserve and protect our military history and make it available to the public to enjoy and learn about. We now also provide a veterans hub, and a safe place for military Veterans. The museum is open 7 days a week, Mondays and Thursdays are set aside for school groups or organisations. We are 100% run by volunteers , most of which are veterans.

Constitutional objectives

The Museum will be an interactive educational resource for all educational establishments as well as always open to the general public. The museum will also offer a facility for anyone to do research in to their families Military History, or for students to research history as part of their studies. It will also be a place that will preserve the nation's military heritage and make that heritage available for the public to appreciate and enjoy. The long term plan will include an area of open land that will be transformed in to a landscape resembling the Somme battlefield trenches. This area will be available as an educational resource, open to the general public & also available for re-enactment events of movie productions.
