02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The main purpose is to enhance the life experience of disabled residents at Bandrum Nursing Home and enable them to reach their full potential. Many no longer have relatives to take them out and their finances are very limited. The charity provides extra opportunities and facilities which are not included in theie care packages. An important element is to promote integration with local communities. Fairs and fetes are held throughout the year to bring in people from the villages. All residents are given a soecial Christmas gift from the charity so that no-one is left out. Some residents are talen to football matches, some go fishing and some have taken up cycling on specially adapted bicycles. The charity ensures that no-one is left out of these activities through lack of funds.
