02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Skye Youth Pipe Band promotes the advancement of Scottish heritage and culture through the teaching of Highland bagpipes and drumming to school aged children up to the age of 18 years on the Isle of Skye. We are a competing pipe band. We perform for our local communities throughout the year to celebrate special occasions and events including community run family ceilidhs and fundraising events.

Constitutional objectives

The organisation's purposes are: The advancement of heritage and culture through the encouragement and promotion of Highland bagpipes and drumming for young people aged up to 18 years in Skye and the community. The Skye Youth Pipe Band facilitate and teach bagpipe and drum playing by organising practices, classes and public performances for young people aged up to 18 years in the Skye and Lochalsh area.
