Constitutional objectives
The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes by operating as a ?grant giving? charity which will support individuals (or educational or scientific institutions on behalf of such individuals) financially and otherwise (but not limited to) scholarships, research, seminars, publications and study (through educational institutions of recognised high quality (irrespective of location) and taking account of both the academic merit and financial need of those undertaking study and research) primarily in five focus areas being namely:- education. public health care. genetic science (including diabetes, obesity and liver disease). technology, energy and water. and human rights law and governance. For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are (i) particularly relevant and (ii) are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- the advancement of education. the advancement of science. and the advancement of human rights
